What next?

Who knows? I might do a transformation. I am looking for inspiration. I want to take a traditional portrait and place it onto a different plane.

thanks for the comment!! it means a lot especially considering your own work! may i ask if you took classes on drawing people or did you just go for it? i'm working on being able to to draw portraits right now but finding it rather tricky~ not that i don't enjoy a challenge ;)
I've done some oil classes. Pretty much just dived in to the pencils though.
Thanks so much for the link!! no, i had not heard of it-- but I'm very excited about it now :)
Hi. I saw something you posted on another site. I was wondering if you could tell me about the strategic lines method.
Sure. Many people use a grid. You can find details about the grid-method all over the place. I use only selected grid lines - and don't restrict them to horizontal or vertical. If a jawline is an important feature, then I replicate a straight line that follows it as close as possible. I also create lines to tightly bind a feature, like eye, ear, nose etc. More details, more lines, less details, fewer lines. If you choose the lines and angles carefully, then you can free-hand draw inside the approximated shapes.
Hey, thank you very much for the devwatch and for the fave!
